“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
Concordia at Cabot welcomed friends, families and neighbors on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, for the 12th Annual Live Nativity – a cherished tradition that brings our community together to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Through three outdoor performances, the story of Jesus’s birth came to life, inviting guests to witness the moment illuminated by soft lights, peaceful music and a spirit grounded in faith.
Homemade luminaries, crafted and arranged by the St. Luke Lutheran Church Youth Group, Rev. Brian Bocian, Concordia Visiting Nurses staff volunteers and Jason and Tammy Young, lit the way for guests as they journeyed to witness baby Jesus’ humble beginning. Their time, creativity and care made this display both beautiful and deeply moving.
Between shows, guests enjoyed Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, a take-home Nativity craft for children hosted by Hope’s Road and wonderful musical entertainment. Special thanks to the St. Luke Lutheran School 3rd and 4th graders, Redeemer Lutheran School and the Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus for sharing their talents by leading our guests in Christmas carols.
A new tradition of giving back began in 2024 as an initiative of the Concordia Missions team, when our guests joined Concordia in supporting local families through a community food drive. This year, the tradition grew as guests once again supported The Lighthouse Foundation by donating canned goods and other essentials. Thank you to all who shared so generously to help uplift our neighbors in need this season.
The success of this event was made possible by the extraordinary efforts of Concordia residents, staff and families. From narrating, singing and acting to decorating, greeting guests and ensuring everything ran smoothly, their contributions were invaluable. We also extend our gratitude to the Saxonburg Fire Police for managing traffic, Bud Sears and Gloria Walker for their special efforts and to everyone who made this celebration so meaningful.
